We are seeking an  Animal Care Assistant  to join our  Insourcing Solutions team located in  South San Francisco, CA. 

As the Animal Care Assistant , you will sanitize, maintain and repair animal cagewash materials.
 
Additional responsibilities include: 

• Provide quality assurance to the cagewash area. Sanitize caging, and related equipment using cage washers, pressure washer, or hand washing as required.
• Clean and sanitize cage preparation and storage areas.
• Bed and prepare all cages for use. Ensure proper amounts of chemicals are present. Report any chemical needs to the supervisor.
• Monitor and record results of cagewash water temperature and results using provided supplies such as temperature dots/strips, cultures. Flush all animal racks.
• Ensure that all logbooks, checklists, and other records are completed in a timely fashion.
• Report any mechanical failures promptly and properly to the supervisor; and perform microbiological sampling in accordance with SOPs.
• Assist housekeeping duties such as trash collection and cleaning animal facility laboratories, offices and ancillary areas.
• Perform all other duties as they pertain to the processing of cages. 

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Animal Care Assistant position: 

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) is required. 
• Ability to read, write, understand and follow directions. Ability to recognize and communicate verbally and/or in writing problems requiring the attention of high level personnel in a timely and appropriate manner.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

The pay for this position is $19 - 23 /hour USD per hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications and locations.
