Job Description: Art Teacher, part-time Our Lady Seat of Wisdom, a Chesterton Academy is a Catholic classical high school in north metro Denver which exists to be a joyful haven where students grow in wisdom and encounter our Lord Jesus Christ for the glory of God and the salvation of souls. We educate students in the Western civilization tradition and the liberal arts and sciences. We are seeking a talented and dynamic part-time Art teacher to join our team starting in the 2024-25 academic year. Teaching art at Chesterton Academies includes both a practical component of teaching drawing, calligraphy, and painting, as well as the ability to give an overview of the history of art. A required core class, Art is essential to the school's mission of introducing students to that which is beautiful. A candidate should possess either a degree in Art or demonstrate extensive experience in the field of painting and drawing. Three to five years of teaching experience is preferred, as well as experience in and passion for Catholic classical education. The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills and possess a track record of contributing to the vision and mission of an apostolic and educational enterprise. In addition to their teaching responsibilities, faculty at Chesterton Academies participate in the House system, which is designed to promote character and virtue, and help students grow in holiness. Faculty members are required to participate in the spiritual life of the school to the greatest degree possible for a part-time teacher. Time commitment: 1 or 2 school days per week, 2 class hours per week. Salary Range: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from $5000-8000.
