Bookkeeper

Location: Hybrid (In-office Monday and Tuesday) - San Diego, CA

Company Overview: Gecko Hospitality is a distinguished restaurant group based in San Diego, known for its dedication to exceptional dining experiences and culinary excellence. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to join our administrative team.

Job Overview: The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in managing our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can work both independently and collaboratively, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including the processing of invoices and the preparation of payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, preferably QuickBooks.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial files.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.


Employment Type:

  • Full-time, Hybrid (Required in-office presence on Monday and Tuesday)
  • Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 base salary
