Aon is looking for a Casualty Broker - Energy

The broker role is responsible for developing and implementing strategic risk management solutions for our Energy clients. This includes the design, marketing and service management of property insurance programs in numerous industry sectors.

The broker will be instrumental in the analysis of client’s exposures to identify and mitigate risk as well as responsible for the coordination of the placement and day-to-day activities on accounts. The broker should have proven peer market relationships and emerging market relationships.

Work Style: Hybrid - Houston

Specific tasks/qualifications include:

Utilizing risk expertise and knowledge of industry and insurance marketplace, reviews clients’ exposures and loss experience and develops solutions for clients’ needs.

  • Understanding of the related risks associated with the energy industry and provides advice accordingly.
  • Analyzes quotes from carriers and provides analysis to clients and client team members including analysis of pricing, coverage, services, quote comparisons, commentary, and recommendation, identify differences against expiring, claims made, surplus lines, and subjectivities, loss projections, and cash flows where applicable.
  • The Energy casualty broker is responsible for the order to bind & the accuracy of programs based on Client direction.
  • Maintains contact and relationships with day-to-day client team to effectively service client needs.
  • Builds and manages relationships within the internal casualty practice, insurance markets, and clients. Develops and maintain strong working relationships with carriers and/or underwriters.
  • Acts as the primary source of information concerning market conditions, including pricing trends, coverage grants, and other underwriting parameters.
  • The Energy casualty broker participates in pre-strategy meeting to build renewal strategy.
  • Responsible for crafting the renewal strategy and submission documents.
  • Review policies for accuracy and requests changes from underwriters.
  • Responsible for following up for any open items or subjectivities.
  • Works closely with account executives, producers and client teams to support client retention and new business production.
  • Articulates the value of the broking function and participates in fee discussions as applicable.
  • Applies the network of Aon resources to develop and implement effective risk solutions.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $100,000 to $135,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus addition to base salary.  The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
