Construction Dispatcher - Subcontracting

Are you experienced in the construction industry and looking to thrive in a respected and dynamic organization? Do you want to be part of a collaborative team? Louis Ptak Construction is seeking a Dispatcher for our Subcontractor Division. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling and dispatching craft carpentry crews, coordinating material deliveries, and managing various administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations across our projects. 

What you get to own:

• Crew Scheduling: Use Procore Workforce Planning to schedule and dispatch craft carpentry crews (around 80 people across 25 active projects).
• Daily Interaction: Interact daily with Field Management to accommodate schedule changes due to illness, weather, injury, or project shifts.
• Material Coordination: Coordinate the delivery of construction materials and rental equipment, preferably through vendors that self-deliver.
• Safety Sessions: Coordinate bi-weekly safety tailgate sessions, including collecting and storing attendance sign-offs.
• Inventory Management: Conduct quarterly inventory of company tools.
• Administrative Tasks: Create and process purchase orders for the subcontracting division and perform other administrative duties.

What we're looking for:

• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with dispatch/scheduling functions and software. An intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
• Highly organized and exceptionally detail-oriented with constant follow-up until tasks are completed.
• Ability to understand the interconnectedness of actions and their impacts, ensuring that actions B and C are updated accordingly when action A is taken.
• Able to context switch quickly and prioritize information.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred.
• Work from our Monterey, CA Office (24600 Silver Cloud Court, Suite 200)
