Plant Manager - Ethanol Refinery, NE

 

Job Summary:

The Plant Manager oversees all plant operations including production, maintenance, safety, and quality. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Plant Manager ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and maintains consistent production by managing key personnel.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach staff; provide feedback and hold accountable.
  • Drive continuous improvement and use systems to influence behaviors.
  • Use KPIs to identify and act on improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate plant operations and align goals with company strategy.
  • Manage departmental budgets and report deviations.
  • Foster a proactive culture and mentor staff for knowledge enhancement.
  • Ensure robust training and qualification processes.
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement solutions.
  • Facilitate effective communication and relationships across departments.
  • Manage plant shutdowns, ensuring timely and budgeted completion.
  • Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with engineering on profitability and reliability strategies.
  • Participate in Senior Leadership Team and Board meetings.
  • Qualify vendors and contractors for production excellence.
  • Oversee the Management Of Change (MOC) process.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Regularly communicate with the CEO.
  • Handle employee disciplinary actions with HR coordination.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and manage PTO and attendance.
  • Participate in hiring processes and support team environment.
  • Backup for department personnel as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee records and company matters.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
  • 10 years of experience in large-scale industrial manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or BS degree w/10 years of relevant Plant Manager experience.
  • Experience with processing equipment such as evaporators, heat exchangers, centrifuges, boilers, cooling towers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, valves, electrical circuits, and instrumentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in industrial manufacturing environments.

 

Salary : $160-180K w/50% bonus, benefits, relocation assist, EOE, NO Sponsorship
