Summary of Position
As our Receptionist,you would serve as a front-line representative for the dealership. You would bean integral part of creating valuable, lifelong customer relationships and would directly impact the customer experience at Knudtsen Chevrolet. The Receptionist should be a people person that is willing and able to learn new things and is motivated to perform well in their position. Continuing product, process, and service specific training would be provided.
***This position will pay between $18.00/hour and $20.00/hour, based on background and qualifications.***
Hours/Shift will be Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 7:00 pm (one hour unpaid lunch)
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner as they enter the showroom and determine the nature of their visit.
- Answer basic inquiries about the dealership and direct customers to the appropriate party or department.
- Notify employees that a customer is waiting and introduce customers to an employee, if applicable.
- Answer incoming phone calls in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner and route calls to the correct department or individual, answer basic questions, or take a thorough message.
- Communicate messages to the applicable parties in a timely fashion.
- Obtain and record basic demographic information about each customer using dealership database software.
- Enter data into prospect tracking system and runs prospect reports for managers weekly.
- Assemble and help maintain owner buckets.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderly function of showroom and customer waiting area. Ensure that water and snack areas are maintained and stocked.
- Provide customers with brochures and other information.
- Assist with clerical duties, collect information, and run reports as requested.
- Uphold a professional appearance.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- A team player focused on providing exemplary customer service.
- Must be comfortable on the phone and delivering both written and verbal messages.
- Self-motivated and hard-working.
- Basic computer skills required. Must be familiar with MS Office Suite including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Must be motivated and willing to learn database management software.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills, and the ability to read and interpret documents.
- Have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Pass a motor vehicle report and possess a safe driving record.
- Pass a criminal background check and drug test.
- Also subject to random drug testing at the company’s request.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the Receptionist will typically be in an office setting. The Receptionist is frequently required to operate a computer and file and retrieve written documents. The physical demands include, but are not limited to, standing, sitting, walking, lifting (5-20 pounds), carrying (5-20 pounds), reaching, handling, kneeling, crouching and bending. The Receptionist must be able to speak, listen and see. Clerical positions can be stressful at times as issues may arise with customers or teammates.
Team Members regularly works 40 hours per week. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member will typically be in an office setting. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and combustibles. Fast paced working environment at times, but typically the environment is quiet and calm. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderately loud. If walking through the service areas can be exposed to loud noises and dangerous work environments.
