Job Description

Input Technology Solutions is seeking a Records Management Specialist for a new opportunity based out of the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.!

In this position, you will join the Washington HQ Services Website and IT Support Services team for a 9-month project where you will play a crucial role in assisting the Information and Technology Management Office in establishing a more robust records management program.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate WHS systems, applications and web sites to determine which are currently non-compliant with records management requirements (e.g. DoDI 5015.02, DoDM 8180.01) and provide guidance on achieving compliance.
  • Develop a strategy/plan for implemented/incorporating records management processes, tools, and systems into WHS business systems, applications, and web sites.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to implement and incorporate records management into WHS systems, applications, and web sites.
  • Coordinate with records management officers, WHS system owners and related stakeholders to validate and report on the implementation and utilization of records management efforts within WHS systems.
  • Coordinate with records management officers and stakeholders to perform review and testing and implementation of records management tools and applications to support WHS user communities.
  • Develop and maintain a records management file plan including folder structure and format for WHS CIO and ITMO, IAW with Federal and DOD regulations. The folder/file structure will conform to DOD OSD Record Disposition Schedules and enable the logical grouping, arrangement and naming of folders and files to enable of easy of retrieval based on subject and other categories.
  • Assist with the migration of WHS CIO/ITMO files from current storage environments (e.g., local shared drives) to new storage environments (e.g., SharePoint, OneDrive) ensuring record management processes and mandates are followed.
  • Review and coordinate with records management officers, WHS CIO staff and related stakeholders to validate WHS CIO/ITMO office folders/files compliance with records management requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Must have active Secret Clearance
  • Must have at least 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Records Manager / Records Analyst Certification Preferred
  • Strong understanding of:
    • DoD Instruction 5015.02, “DoD Records Management Program,” February 24, 2015, as amended.
    • DoD Manual 8180.01 “Information Technology Planning for Electronic Records Management”, August 4, 2023
    • Directive-type Memorandum (DTM) 22-001 – “DoD Standards for Records Management Capabilities in Programs Including Information Technology”
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written/oral communications skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.
