Title: Scrum Master

Location: Atlanta, GA, 30308 (Hybrid-1-2x/week)

Duration: 1+ years. Long-term contract.

Industry: Rail Transportation.

Overview:

The Scrum Master is responsible for delivering maximum value to the customer by facilitating the Scrum delivery process. This role involves both traditional project management duties and Scrum-specific responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Agile Practices: Serve the team and product owner in turning requirements into working software, tracking progress, and helping the team achieve commitments.
• Daily Monitoring: Monitor progress daily and develop corrective actions with the team when problems are identified.
• Project Management: Manage and report the status of scope, schedule, resourcing, and financials.
• Requirement Documentation: Extract and document requirements, author user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Process Support: Ensure team members understand processes and support adherence.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality expectations are defined and understood across the team.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with the team on scheduling work, including defect remediation and refactoring, to prevent technical debt.
• Impediment Removal: Remove impediments to allow the team to focus on engineering tasks.
• Conflict Resolution: Lead in resolving conflicts within the team and remove roadblocks to collaboration.
• Meeting Facilitation: Guide project team meetings, including sprint pre/planning meetings, daily scrum, and sprint review meetings.
• Continuous Improvement: Facilitate retrospective discussions and support continuous improvement efforts.
• Minimize Interference: Limit external interference the team must deal with.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Degree in information technology, business, or a related field.
• Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional people skills, comfortable working with diverse people, and capable of serving as an arbitrator when conflicts arise.
• Project Scoping: Practical understanding of how to scope and estimate work.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience:

• Project Management: Experience in project management and serving as a Scrum Master.
• Multiple Projects: Management of more than one significant project at a time.
• ServiceNow Implementations: Prior experience in ServiceNow implementations is a plus.
• PPM Tools: Practical use of PPM tools and techniques.

Certification Required:

Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
