Job Description

DESCRIPTION

“We fight for the users” - Tron, 1982

Amazon Prime serves over 150 million members across 20+ countries and is at the heart of Amazon’s explosive growth. In 2022, Prime is investing in transformational capabilities to make Prime relevant and accessible to every individual everywhere in the world, to empower every Amazon business to accelerate its growth through Prime, and to pave the way for Amazon’s entry into new businesses.

The Amazon Prime UX Research team is the knowledge hub of all things Amazon Prime. Our team runs worldwide research work streams aimed at understanding Prime and its customers, as well as conducting forward-looking research to inform Prime's future plans, and to make sure we're always positioned to exceed customer expectations. One of the most exciting parts of working on the Prime UX team is in a unique position to examine the entire user journey, across all Amazon products and services.

We are seeking an experienced mixed methods, quant-leaning UX Researcher who is dedicated to understanding, improving, and evolving the Prime membership experience, and influencing Amazon-wide. This position requires the ability to work quickly, while delivering high-quality outputs in a fast pace, in sometimes ambiguous environment, with the unique opportunity to drive impact for Prime members worldwide. Beyond a razor-sharp mixed-methods research background, the ideal candidate possesses strong organizational and program management skills, and is skilled at navigating a complex, multi-org technical environment while focusing on advocating for the customer at all times.

Key job responsibilities
- Help define our research strategy and roadmap.
- Create new research work streams and programs, and adapt existing ones to suit evolving needs.
- Be a customer advocate in business reviews.
- Ability to dive deep into both qualitative and quantitative data in order to bring forward new insights that generate product innovations.
- Form strong alliances with Prime business intelligence, ML Science, and Econ teams to help develop a complete story of the customer.
- Communicate results and opportunities in clear, concise, and compelling ways to all levels of management.

A day in the life
The UX Researcher for Amazon Prime will lead generative and evaluative research projects. Those projects are focused on key areas, essential to help inform the Amazon Prime present and future product roadmaps. You are expected to think like an owner, always raise the quality of the CX and be relentless advocates for customers. You will collaborate with UX Designers, Product Managers, Marketers, Engineers and fellow UX Researchers both within Prime and beyond, to understand opportunities to evolve the Prime CX and UX. You will also use your communication skills and ability to develop actionable insights to help drive impact across Amazon.

About the team
You’ll join a fun, growing team of UX Researchers, Writers, and Designers who help each other develop and thrive. You will have a mentor and a manager that cares about you, your career, and your skills development. We are intentional about creating a warm and supportive vibe on the team. We gather often to collaborate, ask questions, and grow together, so bring your unique skills and experience and be prepared to share and learn and grow with us.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of UX research experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Human Computer Design Engineering, or related field.
- An available online portfolio
- Experience managing all stages of research (i.e.: writing comprehensive study plans, recruiting and managing research ops., execution, analysis, report-writing, etc.)
