Video Game Developer (Part-Time)
Public Trust Security Clearance Required

OTA is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Video Game Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing engaging and educational video games that support a premier cybersecurity competition designed to inspire and cultivate the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.

This position is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop interactive and educational video game content that supports cybersecurity challenges
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity experts to ensure game content is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date
  • Implement game mechanics, user interfaces, and in-game features that enhance player engagement and learning
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure games are free of technical issues and bugs
  • Support additional content development efforts as directed
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative features into game development
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field, equivalent work experience may be considered
  • Proven experience in video game development, with a strong portfolio showcasing completed projects
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as .NET or Python
  • Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine
  • Strong understanding of game design principles, mechanics, and user experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for cybersecurity and education is a plus
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in developing educational or serious games
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and challenges
  • Familiarity with virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) development
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
